HIRE AGREEMENT
So our umbrellas stay beautiful and ready to make the next event as enjoyable as yours, we ask all customers to agree to the below.

- Orders are confirmed once payment or minimum 25% deposit is received

- Lost or damaged goods are charged at $25 per umbrella
- Delivery is through an external company; we will refund an order in full in the rare event delivery doesn’t make it for your event
- Hire period is Thursday – Monday. Late returns are charged at $20/day as it makes it difficult for us to get umbrellas to the next event.

The Details
Payment
Payment of the full amount is to be made prior to the commencement of the hire. Payment is to be made in the form of Bank Transfer, Credit Card or Paypal. Orders are not confirmed until payment is received, either in full for under 25 umbrellas or the 25% deposit is received for orders over 25 umbrellas.
Cancellations
Notification of cancellations received 21 days before the commencement of the hire will receive a full refund of the deposit minus a $25 administration fee. The deposit amount is forfeited for cancellations made inside 30 days before the commencement of the hire.
Handling and Care
It is expected that all hirers of Hire-An-Umbrella property take due care of the umbrellas during hire. Instructions on the handling and care of the umbrellas are expected to be followed. Particularly, please allow the umbrellas to dry before packing away. Failure to dry umbrellas results in rust stains which, while small, are impossible to remove and will result in a damaged goods charge.
Lost or Damaged Goods
A Lost or Damaged Fee of $25 per umbrella will be charged for any umbrella returned in a condition that is irreparable and prevents it from being re-hired. Special order umbrellas (over $17ea) have a lost/damage fee of $35. This includes stains, bent or broken shafts, scratches or any wear and tear above and beyond that from normal use. The judgment of whether wear and tear has been above and beyond normal use is entirely at the discretion of Hire-An-Umbrella.com.au. For any damage that is repairable, the full repair fee will be charged to the hirer as a Damage and Repair Fee.
Deposit
Credit card details are required at time of order in lieu of deposit. Hirer agrees that any lost/damaged fees will be automatically charged to the nominated credit card after receipt of lost/damaged umbrellas. Hire An Umbrella will notify the hirer of charges before they occur and provide adequate time to respond.
Delivery
Hire An Umbrella contracts an external courier delivery company to delivery our umbrellas to you. No responsibility for delayed deliveries by the courier company can be accepted. Orders requiring delivery within 2 nights are recommended our Guaranteed Express option.
Hire Period
The period of hire is from the Thursday before your event date to the Monday after your event date. Events on Tuesday or Wednesday require next-day return. A Late Fee of $20 per day is charged for umbrellas not returned by the Monday.
The hirer will return the umbrellas on the return date and time set out in the agreement. The hirer acknowledges that Hire-An-Umbrella will not refund any monies to them if, at their own discretion, they decide to return the umbrellas prior to the return due date.
Tubes
The black tubes used to transport the umbrella are considered part of the hire and care and responsibility is on the hirer for these items. Any damage to the tubes that results in their inability to be used will be result in a replacement fee of $100.00.
Responsibility
Hire-An-Umbrella cannot be held liable for any costs incurred as a result of using the umbrellas in any circumstances. While Hire-An-Umbrella takes all care to ensure all umbrellas are in a quality condition, the hirer takes responsibility for any use of the umbrellas once received. It is recommended that you check all umbrellas before use.
Any issues brought to the attention of Hire-An-Umbrella, including loss or damage, outside of 24 hours of receiving the umbrellas will be considered the hirer’s responsibility and fees and charges may occur as a result.
The hirer at all times shall, use the equipment in accordance with all laws and Government Regulations pertaining to the use of the equipment, and in a proper manner.
The hirer acknowledges and agrees that he/she has relied on his/her own judgment, in relation to the fitness of the equipment to perform any particular job, or function prior to signing this agreement. And further acknowledges that he/she has not communicated to the owner, its servants, or agents, the particular use to which he intend to put the equipment.
Hire-An-Umbrella shall bear no responsibility for any injuries resulting from the use/misuse of any hire equipment or failure of such equipment supplied to the hirer. The hirer shall be responsible for all medical and transportation expenses as a result of such injuries.
